Marion McVeety Public School is located close to the University of Regina and to Wascana Park as well as the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts. Of the 5,420 who reside in the area, 15% are under the age of 14. It is a stable community with little transience. The average attendance is 68%. English is the language most commonly spoken by students. In the Hillsdale Community, 18.4% of the residents speak a mother tongue other than English; 10.2% are bilingual; 7.7% speak a home language other than English, and 10.6% have knowledge of our second official language. Languages other than English that are spoken include Spanish, Greek, Russian, Chinese, French and German.
